QUV/basic

The QUV/basic is a totally automated UV fluorescent tester in which the Irradiance is preset. In this machine the UV light intensity (Irradiance) is not continuously adjustable. The QUV/basic is less expensive than the QUV/se, but cannot be continuously calibrated.

The QUV/basic compensation method for lamp aging is by lamp rotation and replacement system. The two oldest of the QUV's eight lamps have to be replaced every 400 hours of lamp usage, in accordance with ASTM-G154.

With this replacement schedule, lamp cycling & replacement according to the standard, is required once every four to eight weeks, depending on the UV/condensation cycle chosen.

The QUV/basic and the QUV/se are the most widely used fluorescent accelerated weathering testers in India.
